Delete your data

Effective Date: May 26, 2026

HeyFriend gives you full control over your child's data. Most of it lives on your device — uninstalling the app removes it. If you signed in with Apple, we also keep a small server-side record (subscription state, an opaque device identifier) that we will purge on request.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)

  1. Open HeyFriend on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the gear icon (top right of the home grid) and enter your parent PIN.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of Settings and tap Delete profile & all data.
  4. Confirm the two prompts. This wipes the child profile, call history, memories, and PIN from your device.

This deletion is local to your device. It does not delete your active App Store subscription — manage that in iPhone Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > HeyFriend.

Option 2 — Uninstall

Long-press the HeyFriend icon on your home screen → Remove AppDelete App. iOS removes all on-device storage with the app.

Option 3 — Purge server-side records

If you signed in with Apple, we keep a minimal server-side record so the app can restore your subscription on a new device. To have it permanently deleted:

  1. Email support@heyfriend.app from the email address linked to your Apple Sign-In.
  2. Use the subject line: Delete my account.
  3. Include the child's first name as you entered it during onboarding (so we can locate the right record).

We will confirm the request within 2 business days and complete deletion within 30 days. After deletion you will lose subscription restore capability — any future App Store purchase is treated as new.
