What is HeyFriend?
HeyFriend is an iPhone app that lets young children (ages ~2–5) pretend to video-call friendly fictional characters. The character listens, talks back, and the call ends — no infinite scroll, no autoplay, no ads.
Is it safe for my child?
HeyFriend is designed for the Kids Category and is built around parental control: a PIN gates settings and purchases, there is no chat with other users, no advertising, no behavioral profiling, and audio is processed in real time without being stored on our servers. What ages is HeyFriend made for?
Roughly 2–5. The characters speak in short, simple sentences and the App is designed for short, supervised sessions.
Does HeyFriend record what my child says?
Audio is streamed to our backend in real time so the character can understand and reply, then discarded — we do not save audio recordings. The text transcript of the call is kept on your device so you can review it later, and you can delete it at any time from Settings.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → HeyFriend → Cancel Subscription. Access continues until the end of your current billing period. We can't cancel a subscription on your behalf — Apple handles billing.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are issued by Apple, not by us. Open Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com page, sign in with your Apple ID, find the HeyFriend charge, and request a refund. We're happy to help you with the request — email support@heyfriend.app.
How much does HeyFriend cost?
There's a monthly plan and an annual plan. The annual plan includes a 3-day free trial. We show live App Store pricing inside the app on the trial screen so you always see your local currency and any current promotion.
How do I delete my account and data?
Inside the app, open Settings (parent PIN required) → tap “Delete profile & all data”. This wipes everything on the device. To purge any server-side records linked to your Apple Sign-In, email support@heyfriend.app — see heyfriend.jexhq.com/delete-account.
I forgot my parent PIN.
Uninstall and reinstall the app. This wipes the on-device profile and PIN. Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID, not to the PIN — sign in with Apple after reinstalling and tap Restore Purchases to get back in.
The character keeps repeating itself or sounds glitchy.
This is usually a network issue or background noise interfering with speech recognition. Try a quieter room, switch to Wi-Fi, and restart the app. If it persists, email support@heyfriend.app with the time of the call and your iPhone model.
Will there be more characters?
Yes. We add new friendly characters periodically. Premium subscribers get them automatically as soon as they ship.
